Welcome to our Wiki.  We are the Austin ASTD chapter's CPLP Preparation SIG.  Or in other words:  We are the Austin chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) Special Interest Group (SIG) for preparing for being a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).

 

 

 

What is our goal? 

 

 

 

Our primary goal is to prepare interested parties to pass the CPLP exam.  In addition, we strive to help participants expand their knowledge of Designing Learning, Delivering Training, Improving Human Performance, Measuring and Evaluating, Facilitating Organizational Change, Managing the Learning Function, Coaching, Knowledge Management, and Career Planning and Talent Management.

 

 

 

As facilitators, we commit to providing an interactive learning environment on a monthly basis to help explore and reinforce 9 competencies of the CPLP.

What you need to participate:                

Please notify Melissa Reaves at melissa@performancefocused.com about your interest in participation. 
 
In addition, you will need:
  • A set of the ASTD Learning System (can be ordered via                     http://www.astd.org/content/publications/ASTDLearningSystem/) a 9-book set corresponding to  each module. (there is a set owned by the chapter that can be loaned out to participants). 
  • Time and committment to read and self-study the modules before the meeting.
  • A willingness to participate in interactive exploration of the materials.
